It's always fun to see the odd looks you get when you tell a patron that you're having a really good day. I've been getting a lot of double takes today

Sucess!!

As of late I've been missing my job in North Orange County. The people here are great, but I didn't have the same feeling of changing people's lives as I did there. Today helped to change that.
An amazing volunteer of mine, Steve Iman, hosts a job search seminar at my library. We've done four of them so far, and the last one had really good attendance. One of the seekers had gotten really down. He was on his last legs financially and was literally looking at being homeless if he didn't find something soon. It was heartbreaking to see this vibrant man brought so low. Well, today he came into the library and told me that he'd gotten two job offers! One was full time with benefits. Woo hoo!! What was the most touching was that he raced to the library once he knew so that he could tell me first.

It was an amazing day after all.
